Serbian national shot putter Asmir Kolašinac won the guest shot put competition in Belgrade with a new personal best. He broke the 21m mark for the first time achieving a massive toss of 21.58m (70' 9¾") which puts him 4th in the 2015 world rankings. Joe Kovacks is leading with his impressive 22.35m (73' 4") thrown in April. Joe is followed by two time World Champion David Storl (21.94m/71' 11¾") and Christian Cantwell (21.64m/71' 0").

Asmir Kolašinac:

I can not describe how I feel. The throw felt perfect. This is a true indication of how far I can actually throw. The last two months I throw very far, but it would not count. Today everything is as it should be, "said Kolašinac.

The 30-year-old tossed four times over the 21m barrier at the Partizan stadium. During the first attempt he exploded with his massive toss of 21.58m (70' 9¾"), and let follow 21.15m (69' 4¾") in the second, 21.06m (69' 1¼") in the fourth and 21.24m (69' 8¼") in the sixth round. Kolašinac fouled his third attempt, while the 5th attempt was measured 20.92m, which was also 2 centimeters further than his previous personal best. Dragan Peric holds the Serbian shot put record with 21.77m (71' 5¼") thrown over 17 years ago in Bar.

Kolašinac hopes to be ready for the World Championship to break even the national record and win one of the medals.
