At the Schönebecker SoleCup 2015 Andreas Hofmann joined the German javelin trio who have already thrown the qualification standard for the upcoming World Championships in Beijing, China. He produced a massive throw of 83.27m and is very happy about it. Due to Thomas Röhler's wildcard by winning the Diamond League race last year, Germany can send four throwers to Beijing.
Currently Johannes Vetter is leading the German national top list with 85.40m, followed by Thomas Röhler, who is only 4cm short with 85.36m. And since yesterday Andreas Hofmann is placed third. The fourth German who achieved the qualification standard of 82.50m is Lars Hamann with 82.89m.
Andreas Hofmann has fought his way back after flexor problems at the beginning of the season. He underpinned his goal for the upcoming world championships with 83.27m, surpassing the qualification standard by 77cm. At the German national championships the javelin throwers do not have to fight for the three available tickets for the World championships in Beijing. Due to the Diamond League win of Thomas Röhler he has a wildcard. That means Germany will send quite certain 4 javelin throwers to Bejing!!
Andreas Hofmann:
83.27m and qualification standard for the World Championships at Schönebecker SoleCup! What more do you want! Currently it's going really great. :)
