Harting: "World Record Is Not Realistic At The Moment"

After Robert Harting continued Germany´s long discus throwing tradition by winning his 3rd consecutive World Championships Gold (4th consecutive medal - he won silver in Osaka 2007), he was realistic about his current shape.

"Setting a new world record is not realistic at the moment," he spoke to MTV3.  "It takes perfect weather, suitable wind, good audience and shape. These conditions have been available this year but nobody has gone even close to record", he added.

He also told MTV3 that Germany has long traditions in discus throwing but it´s not superior. "Moscow showed that good throwers are also coming from Poland and Estonia."

World record is standing on 74.08m (243' 0") since 1986 and was thrown by Jürgen Schult.
