Discus Queen Perkovic takes 10 points at DL Oslo with 67.10m

Tonight's Diamond League Race in Oslo, Norway showed once again that Sandra Perkovic is the queen of the women's discus event. She collected 10 points with her winning throw of 67.10m again. Nadine Müller placed 2nd with 63.09m and Denia Caballero 3rd with 62.65m.

Sandra Perkovic opened the Diamond League meeting in Oslo with 65.34m which would have been enough for today's victory. Nadine Müller's 1st round effort secured her the 2nd spot on the podium and some Diamond League points. Caballero and Craft both fouled their first attempts. Yaimi Perez opened with 61.91m which was also her best effort for today. Due to Shanice Craft's 3rd round effort of 62.08m, she secured her the additional three throws. (Due to the new IAAF rule that only the top 4 after three rounds get another three throws).

In the end, Nadine Müller was not able to improve during her remaining five attempts anymore. Denia Caballero was able to improve with her last round effort of 62.65m to secure the 3rd place. The discus queen Sandra Perkovic underlined once again her great shape with a solid performance. Her 3rd attempt was the best one, measured 67.10m. All four valid throws 65.34m, 66.28m, 67.10m and 64.10m would have been enough to take today's victory.

Sandra Perkovic:
I always push myself, so it was not easy, I want everytime the best possible result. Today the 4th attempt which was not valid was maybe the best, but I did not had the right angle. Every win is good also for me, here they changed the circle so I hope when I come back next time I will be able to deliver a 70 m. Now still Stockholm, then training camp, then European Championships, again training camp before Olympic Games.
