Molitor throws Olympic standard

Javelin World Champion Katharina Molitor threw the Olympic standard at Diamond League start of the track and field athletes.

The 32-year-old came in Doha / Qatar to a distance of 62.12 m and finished fourth. Her world champion gold distance of 67.69 m missed Molitor significantly, but the norm for the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro surpassed Katharina by 12 centimeters. Sunette Viljoen of South Africa won the DL competition 65.14 m

In the absence of Olympic champion Robert Harting, the Pole Piotr Malachowski won the discus competition. The world champion of 2015 came to a distance of 68.03 m, a new world-leading mark. Harting cannot train because of a torn muscle in chest muscle and inflammation in the right knee for several weeks.
