Zylstra: How are things going this year?
Dacres: I'm working on getting stronger, adding a few pounds to my 6'3" frame and get to around 235 lbs. We are building the power by adding medicine balls to my workouts. the entire training group usually throws the 2kg; sometime we throw 2.5kg. In the weight room we do Olympic lifts, bench pressing, deadlifts, squats along with some extras now and then.

This is a year with no vacations, just some drawing and television to relax. Jamaican discus throwing is at a high level and along with throwing the Olympic standard I need to finish in the top-3 at the Trials to get to Rio. I am guided by Julian Robinson. He also coaches Traves Smikle, Chad Wright , Basil Bingham and myself at our Jamaican training site.
