GB's Goldie Sayers Out of the world championships

I was not Goldie Sayers's competition today as she fails to throw the qualification distance for the Beijing world championships, Sayers could only manage a distance of 58.28 on her 1st throw, and following it up with 58.11 for her 2nd throw.

with a Automatic qualification distance set at 63.50 Sayers needed to throw over it or as close to as she could, her current PB is set at 66.17, but sadly she did not manage a counted 3rd throw in the competition, with her hand going just over the line. a disappointing moment for the Great Britain thrower.

For some of the other  throwers, Barbora Špotáková from the Czech Republic Qualified with a  throw of 65.02, the current world record holder looks to be in good form and is a strong contender for the title.

Lingwei Li  from China is was only just in front with a throw of 65.07 putting her in the final, and the winner of the qualification round was Christin Hussong from Germany with a  throw of 65.92 and is now her brand new PB for her.
