Long throws in Eugene: Nelson, Cantwell and Hoffa on fire

Last day at the US Championships in Eugene - men´s shot put -

Adam Nelson (USA   ) won the US Championships title with his new season´s best 22.09m. It sets  him the 2nd in the world top list this year. Nelson´s previous season´s best was 21.39m since 30 April.

The competition behind Nelson was interesting as well. Christian Cantwell, the reigning world outdoor/indoor champion finished on second with his season´s best of 21.87m. His last attempt landed on between 22.40-22.50m which would have granted him the world lead as well as the US Champion title.

Reese Hoffa was third with 21.86m and Ryan Whiting fourth with 21.34m. It means USA will be represented in Daegu by 4 shot putters.
