@Phil Bilkins center of the throwing world?
2013 IAAF World Championships:
Gold David Storl, Robert Harting, Christina Obergföll
Silver Christina Schwanitz
Thats probably the reason why Germany is know for as the "center of the throwing world"

Storl has been seen throwing 20.50 from a stand by the American throwers at a major championship.
I've seen 20,50m standing throw as well... This guy is so tremendously explosive!!!
I do not know so much regarding hammer throw.
But we are lucky to have some Olympians on board.
@kathrinklaas @Kibwé Johnson
Maybe one of you guys would be able to help @James Joycey with his question?
Well written @Jason Young !!
Even though I'm only a hobby thrower and not an professional athlete I do can understand that for some people it might look like a sacrifise.
But you explained it very well, if the athletes really wants to do, then in his eyes it will not be a sacrifise...
That is a great interview! @kmcarr12 (Kevin Carr) is a legend in the throwing community!
Thanks to him we always had a place to share our thoughts.
I hope this social board will get there as well.
@Sean Denard you mentioned in the article that an archive is available to everyone? I'm afraid I cannot see it? Do i need to have special access to view it?
Found some with Robert Harting:
Also this one from Toyota (Tokyo, Japan)
Who likes cheese? Gerd Kanter does
Jesus is Gunthor jugglind with the 7,26kg ball?? Who is willing to try that and make a video of it?!
Crazy ...
Unfortunately, the video is in french (explanations).
@Sandy Preto do you know if there are going to be changes anytime soon for the weights?
Or do you know why the US has their own weight system at all?!
I totally share your opinion @Jason Young .
Especially the throwers need to "feel" releasing their hands and to see the discus flying is a good feeling.
On the other hand, if you want to take a closer look on a technique detail a ton of throws have to be done to correct someting. Therefore, it might be an advantage to do this inside. You can probably do double the amount of throws throwing into a net during a trainign session.
Does anyone think Brian Oldfield might have been faster as well?
There was probably too much pressure on him after his Olympic Gold medal....
