What I started doing for shot put and discus is I set a few markers out to see the general area where I'm hitting. Like many, I believe it's very important to get a sense of where you're at.

Hey Kiddo,
Ive never had a herniated disk before, but I have battled many many injuries thus far. My best advice... Keep Battling! Like you, I've been recovering from multiple injuries this season and sometimes you just have to roll with the blows, AND make sure not to skip out on rehabilitation. This season alone I've had 2 MRIs, and the doctors told me I tore my shoulder labrum in 3 places, along with a slight meniscus tear in my left knee, and torn cartilage on the back of the knee cap. Might be best to change the lifts up a bit. For example, instead of squats, I worked the Leg Press on Leg Day. DONT BE DISCOURAGED! There are always alternatives.. A promising season is still ahead of you!
Thanks AJ! This is very encouraging and really made my day. I think I have it easier compared to what you're going through haha. -
So I've been dealing with a herniated disc since last for the past four months and I am now on the steady road to recovery. This is my senior year and I want to make an impact for my last high school season. I feel very discouraged that I won't have a good season due to the heavy lack of working out and practicing. Is there any advice on how I can try and have at least a decent season? Has anyone thrown with a herniated disc?

For me, I throw better in a slower ring. It allows me to use my momentum whereas in a fast ring I don't feel I have control, and I end up over rotating.
