Hey,
For a bit of feedback of shoes you should read the thread I posted asking about shoes. Difference In Throwing Shoes
Was really helpful. As for the distance it's pretty good. Sounds like your doing well

mo has said he probably isn't defending the 5000.
I'd go with:
200m - Bronze - Hughes
10,000m - Gold - Farah
Long Jump - Silver - Rutherford
Heptathlon - Gold - KJT
100m H - Silver - Porter
The problem I have is Bubka just followed everything that coe said, until he did the hammer thing which for me was purely for publicity and I think the people in charge at the diamond league will fight not to have hammer in, even though it should be
If it can be done in a safe and effective way for other sports, who you never really hear of anyone getting caught if when they do tests, there must be a reason for that.
The difference is, if you give people the option you can guarantee you will get a lot of people on board, as sometimes it's not about the glory, it's about getting the furthest throw you can or run the fastest you can, but also as almost an experiment to see where you can push your body to.
Gatlin is in the form of his life, but that is because it's still in his system, does mean he is technically still doping, yes, if he broke the world record would if be tarnished, yes, My ideas take all this out of the equation
I would be overseen by WADA and the IAAF, the list of substances wouldn't change from what it is, but it would give people who want to use to get better the chance to actually be honest about it.
Competition wise for me would be a diamond league type calender year with a big event at the end, keep it simple but would be enough to keep people interested, and to be able to get some sponsors on board e.g supplement manufacturers
I completely agree, I think they should go the same route as Body-building or MMA and have a separate completion calendar to people who don't dope, let them compete just not against legit competitors.
That's great news, good to see the IAAF do something about it
not half
Not a clue, think he was a high jumper normally, was a league match so was just filling a place, as it seems normal practise in nothern league in england
Am I right in seeing you got a PB Ben on power of 10? Well done, good day to throw it
I'd like to weight in, I think being a good coach you are constantly learning about your athletes as much as they are learning about the sport, but also you don't have to be the longest thrower to become a good or great coach but be prepared to be judged on that
"Does it count if I drag the hammer to the 20m mark?"
Was laughing with a guy about this on sunday
I'm 26 and I coach throwers up to the age of 18, so for me I try keep it as simple as possible, we can have a laugh and have fun as a group but I also keep my distance on a personal level.
yeah, too true but that's whole other topic
That sounds fair enough, I got the saucony unleased as my first pair and they have been great, they made me get on the front of my foot a lot easier, but now I need the speed as don't get to train as much as I'd like to.
that is some quality feedback, I have to say I am seeing more people in the addidas shoes than the Nike ones so, to hear that you know of a few people complaining about them makes sense.
I am looking to see what people think to different types of shoe, whether that be discus, shot, hammer or javelin. There is are quite a few different types of shoe on the market at the minute around the world and I am interested to see what the differences are for different people and what they look for in a shoe.
I am currently using the 2013 Saucony discus shoes, I am finding them quite quick. The way they are made I find it a lot easier to be on my toes while in them. I am relatively new to the sport (3 years) but I am now getting to the point where I'm looking at how to improve every aspect of my throw and these helped to get round the circle for me.
that sounds a good idea
Definitely the right call, but I have to say I feel for the guys who didn't do anything wrong
Have you tried what Florian said above? Using faster shoes as wellThis might even increase your speed then too
Got the 2013 saucony shoes, I find them quite quick but that just means I'm not quick enough, will need to look into what shoes people find quicker
