Right at the beginning Thomas Schmitt improved his previous personal best of 19.07m by 37cm to 19.44m. "I felt that even more would be possible and the 20m should be reachable," said the 26 year old physics…

The officals stated that the distance has been measured twice and the shot put was weighted couple of times as well.

I sure hope he can reproduce the result soon. At least tossing the ball over 20m line

Sure I can.

As far as I know he has some troubles getting close to even 18m right now. All past competitions ( I guess 4-5 of them) were even below 18...
I'm not sure what the reason is but something seems to be off

The officials stated that they measured the shot couple of times and checked the distances couple of times. Even though I think something is odd about all it I do not think that the officials or Thomas did anything on purpose.

What I could think off that the pressure is getting to intense, everyone expects him to throw that massive throw again or at least come close to it. That's a total new perspective for Thomas. I do not think this is something easy to deal with
