I have noticed that there are a lot of new throwers in the discus throw that are coming up the ranks and a lot of them have pretty good personal bests (63-66m) and I am curious to see how they perform next year. I would like to hear some more experienced throwers opinions ,What throwers have you guys noticed that have potential

Do you really considering him as someone getting a medal in Beijing? Competing against the big guys he did not throw further that 62m so far.

Didn't have Christopher Harting on my list... being 2nd in 2015... gonna be interesting what is happening in Beijing

Gerhard Mayer? 4th in the world with new national record....
not sure if that will help him though in a stadium

Jared Schurmanns also threw a new pb with 66m, quite impressive.

There is definately a lot of doubtfull cases , but I definitely think we're gonna see some very surprising performances at the worlds. There is not one clear leader this year in discus ( Malachofski is winning all the diamond league comps but I don't think he is throwing far enough to take gold. although you never know) It is definitely a new discus era and it is going to be very interesting to see everybody's performance. I personally want to see how Fedrick dacres wil perform seeing as he is only 21 and throwing 66m.

The Austrian is on the small side. I do love his technique.

Speaking of where. Will Robert Harting be like Val Adams and not compete?

Yes, I think the Athletics culture in Jamaica has enough cockyness that they will not be held down. O'Dayne showed that.
