Does throwing everyday make you more prone to getting injuried

Throwing Frequency in Training

good question. I don't throw 7.26 kg shot but can I ask after you do a training session are your muscles sore?.
-
no, but there is a little bit of knee pain
-
I'll say that throwing everyday is not good , there must be a difference of one day in your each throwing session , so in that way you will be seeing your progress
-
@Rustam singh I can see your point but if you dont throw every day how can you get to the mythical 10000 throws. You need to throw around 30 a day to achieve this in one year. I would not think doing javellin every day would be good for your arm but I think shot and discus would be different.

Sam Healy you are not wrong
But I've been practicing with recent world junior championship bronze medalist Navjeet Dhillon and Asian bronze guy who is her real brodr
And even according to Jacko Gill's interview I saw once
He told that he used to throw just a couple of times in a weekSo bro I hope u don't mind me saying like this afterall we all are here to learn from each other
-
but we all know what Jacko was doing for the rest of the week!. Probably too many weights and not enough throwing. He lost his speed in the ring

From folks I know – 20 throws, twice a day, 5 days a week – works well.
Unless you are using PEDs, daily throwing will wear you out. -
sorry what is PEDS?
-
Performing Enhancing Drugs – steroids, human growth hormone, EPO... etc.

Norm's answer is about exactly what I am doing with Rutger and Seema, we take 20-25 throws twice a day, one of the sessions is more technique based and the other more throws of 100%. We go three days of throwing then off for a day then two days of throwing and one off. Obviously the lifting load is taken into consideration on the number and intensity of throws.

@Tony Ciarelli are either of your athletes doing 2 events. Could you do 2 20 throws of discus and shotput twice a day?
-
I do have my high school athlete's throw both shot and discus in the same practice but we only throw once a day. Rutger has had practice's were we have thrown both shot and discus, but most of the time we threw one implement in the morning practice and the other in the afternoon practice. Rutger is only throwing the discus for the 2015 season.

Thank you for your posts coach @Tony Ciarelli

mmmm....once per day, 6 days/wk, 40-60 in off-season, except for exclusively rudimentary work cycles (my favs) ; ) 20-30 in-season; thresholds are 1-injury (get it sorted ASAP, even miniscule pulls and aches, BE PROACTIVE!!) and 2-breakdown in technique (awareness, drills to fix technique, throw again tomorrow)
