"As the 2014 season of the IAAF Diamond Leagueapproaches the half-way stage, the Diamond Race in all 32 disciplines can still be won by anyone.

There are eight athletes, however, who are just two more wins away from winning the Diamond Race in their event. They are shot putter Valerie Adams, discus thrower Sandra Perkovic, ...

Six athletes – ..., Adams, Perkovic,... have so far achieved a clean sweep this season, having won every Diamond Race fixture for their event.

Adams has extended her career tally of IAAF Diamond League wins to 20, more than any other athlete.

Meanwhile, if Perkovic wins in Paris and Glasgow, she will become the first athlete to win at every single IAAF Diamond League meeting on the calendar."

I hope to see a US American man shot putter win the Diamond so we can see four men US putters in China.

The US Americans need to win that DL title... it's tight, but we've got some dogs in the fight.

Perkovic now has 16 points following her last gasp win in the French capital and even were her nearest rival, the USA’s Gia Lewis Smallwood, to win all of the remaining meetings, the Croatian would still emerge victorious thanks to her superior win count.

Any news here?

Looks like the only place where an additional qualifier may be had is in the men's shot put, specifically the USA. The US will have multiple "A" standard putters and I'm sure they all hope to add a 4th to the roster.

Reese Hoffa (USA) leads Kovacs (USA) and Strol (GER) by 3 points while Cantwell (USA) sits 4th, 6 points behind Hoffa.

Looks like @Reese Hoffa is on his way to Beijing by winning the 2014 Diamond League.
