Yes, in the US we have middle school girls throwing 4kg balls (stupid athletic directors). What is your advise for each age group? ... or is it based on how far they throw each ball?

3k should be the womens high school ball. The training i would use is to go 1k below and 2k above. Women should be like the men ,high school to college 25% increase in weight. I used to train 4k high school girls with 6lb, 3k, 7lb, 8lb, 4k, 10lb, 5k balls in practice. 50 foot girl got a 12lb.

Lifting is the same for gliders and spinners.

Best stand 15.35, best glide 17.23, best spin 19.10, 20m will come with time. Light balls already in place. 22.55 3k, 20.72 3.5k just need to build in the backend specific strenght throwing. Jeneva will reach 20m when we can get the 16lb to 14.30. This will take many throws will heavy balls.

Coach @John Smith did Ms. Price-Smith ever try to use the rotational technique? She was also an excellent discus thrower.

Connies best stand 17.10, Years ago i tried it a few times but never consider it. Everyone glided with the women back then. The general thought back then is you rotated only if you coundnt glide well.

Jeneva has use the glide for 8 years. Spin for 2 years. Gliding is part of the training for the spin. Rotate into a gliders finish. The glide is like a standing throw for the spin. She glides distance x then the spin will go distance x.

How far did McCall throw in high school?

Jeneva threw 42 4k shot 137 disc in high school. Broke 40 only 1 time. Spinner into a glider . Only high school kids that coundnt spin well.

I completely agree with your hypothesis. I am one of those that you speak of- who needed to spin to get better distances. I switched from the glide to spin my first week of practice in college. I competed at the Division 3 level. I am 5’6″, strong and pretty athletic. What I didn’t have in leverage, I was able to make up with the spin. I went from a 37′ average out of high school to 45′ in college. I should have gone higher but injuries prevented that. The benefits to the spin are incredibly and I hope more coaches and female athletes give it a try.

Jeneva first threw the hammer in september of 2008. No previous experience. Got to 74.77 in less than 5 years. Connie threw 43 in high school and went to 64.4 with the glide.

Europeans love the glide I don't see them changing yet... Chinese i think will stay with the glide also. No reason for them to change.
