Like the men, the gold medal at the 2014 Indoor World Championships will probably be a two person match; fought between New Zealand’s Val Adams and the German Christina Schwanitz. These are the only current shot putters who managed to toss the 4kg ball over the 20m barrier. Schwanitzcompeted five times this year already and […]

The start list:

Unfortunately, I totally agree with Florian.
there is noone who could fight for gold besides Schwanitz and Adams -
-
Another New Zealand v. German battle.
-
This is going to be a great batlte between those as well!
But I dont think Schwanitz will be able to beat Adams, (yet) -
Right, but dont underestimate the Germans!
She did five comps with all beeing over 19,50m... she might be ready to go big? -
-
She is in the squad with Storl? Oh this puts a different light on the final i believe.. Maybe @Florian van Dijck you are right and she will be able to beat Adams
-
Sure Schwanitz is a great shot putter, but see Adams statistics... maybe our @Jackson Bushop who is the statstic fanatic has some to show.
How long ago was it that Adams was beaten (legally) ? -

Whao... Adams goes big with WL 20,11m

@Michelle Carter can be good for one large throw. I think she can compete with Schwanitz. Adams much error to be beaten, the clique "She has to beat herself".

Adams in for another payday at Worlds
"Event winners stand to receive $US40,000 with a $US50,000 bonus paid to anyone breaking a world record in Sopot, a coastal resort on the Baltic Sea in northern Poland."I would like the see Jeneva McCall spin herself into the top-3 but that's a bit of a stretch. She barely snuck into the final. I wonder if @John Smith is in Poland? I saw Pat Ebel (Penn State, @Ryan Whiting ) made it over.

I would like the see Jeneva McCall spin herself into the top-3
I think @McCall can go 18,60m, and that could medal. -
Is Hungarian Anita Márton the next @Tom Walsh ? She personal best in the qualifying with 18.63m.
-
Didn't #Adams just had an ankle surgery? It doesn't seem like it...
Adams seems very serious. I would guess she took her recovery as a job and did everything needed to recover.
