Hi there! My sister and I want to do the shot put, but we are not 14 years old anymore, but 38 and 40 instead.
I was able to find a lot of information about training plans but they mostly refer to talented youngsters or experienced talented throwers.
Do you know where I could find infos about drills and such for beginners who do not have a big athletic background?
Any help is deeply appreciated!

Any advice for middle-aged beginners?

I have found Max Jones' book very useful. He has one for each event.

Got the Discus one and it is wonderful. Started throwing in October at the age of 30 so completely know what it is to start later in life. Best decision I have ever made - helped really focus at the gym with weights etc - I hope it is going well!

It is going well, thanks, I wish the same for you!
