After having attended the NTCA convention a while back, I was wanting to try some of the new things I had learned. 5 minutes into my SP session, huge flakes started pelting my face sideways on the wind. To be truthful, it only got me more excited than I already was.

Spring track in Northern NY, up until early-mid april we would get snow storms.
We had a large enough team. After hallway running, we would have the athletes shovel the track, we would try and get 1 lane a day.
That same year, we shoveled out our shot put sectorpublished at Sep 9th 2013 6:37am on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/

Quote from Bill Green
I, for one, am still checking The Ring, having been a participant since October, 1998.
I think the answer to the question regarding what has happened to the site has to do with two factors. The growing list of other distractions on the Internet has certainly played a role, but more importantly a lack of concerted effort to stimulate formative discussion.
My approach to this forum has been to try and motivate compelling conversation, and for a long time I worked hard at trying to both get provocative commentary going or improve/maneuver it to a more productive level. I just got tired of the lack of takers, or the less informed level of discussion that has seemed to prevail.
For retired throwers not as close to what is going on these days in the sport the primary interest is essentially two things: 1)Keeping up with what's happening with the subsequent generations, 2) Imparting knowledge and historical context. I have concluded there doesn't seem to be as much interest in the second among the younger participants, or that there are better vehicles for them to get what they were taking from The Ring in the past.
Maybe that is where the two aforementioned points intersect.
Or maybe what people from prior era's have to say is becoming outdated and less relevant, which is a distinct possibility.published at Sep 9th 2013 10:23am on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/
