What are some quality drills that can be done for a rotational thrower without a shot in their hand?

FDthrower, it has been my experience to remember the ONE GOLDEN RULE when practicing SPIN Throwing Drills
GR #1 Never STOP in the middle of the drill. This creates stops/hesitations in the actual movement.
In other words....always complete the hip rotation and arm strike.
Yeah it can be a no-reverse drill but never ever stop that MOTOR FOOT in the middle.
Just my opinion.

Sound advice Ron. I would add that performing these drills should be done at the slowest speeds possible. You want to make sure they are performed absolutely perfectly. Speed wil come automaticaly as you master the movements.

What a title! I go along with the Slam Man and Mic. Now my thoughts. The mind. The thrower needs to see the throw in their Mind, the back of the ring, the middle and then the front where the throw is made. the speed of the movement specially in the middle and then to the front where the lift is made and the the throw occurs. If the mind can make the throw, then the movement becomes easier when you do the drills.

Does anyone have an article that describes this?
I have coached it in the past. Actually had a conference champion & school record holder who threw farther from this than the glide or spin (even though technique looked pretty good)....more explosive at the front of the ring for her.
For those who have never seen it, it starts with feet parallel at back of ring & is a essentially a shuffle into the power position at the front...left ft. back, bring rt. ft under shoulder at 45 degrees & you are in PP.published at Dec 24th 2009 2:34am on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/

You can do all the standard drills (stands, wheels or 1/2 turns, South Africans, Giant Steps, Full, 360 and Fulls, etc) with your hands on your hips, a cross bar on your shoulder or a medicine ball at the chest...
You can turn an indoor bad weather into a high rep drill day with the above methods and get some really good technique work done.published at Dec 24th 2009 9:37am on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/
