I will admit Adam Nelson has been a force to reckon with the past ten years. However, John Godina's resume includes four would championships, and brought home two Olympic medals. Also, remember he stopped throwing discus early in his career to focus on the shot. He may have been the best double of all time if he kept throwing it.

The only one I really disagree with is in the hammer. WHen I think Tihkon I think total domination and a close #2 is Morifushi! Below listed are the best of the decade, best in the US, best now and best of all time according to me, had a little extra time after work.

Does anyone have an old bag/handle from a broken weight that they are not using and would sell? I have the ball for a weight, but no bag. It doesn't matter what weight ball went in it, I'll modify it so that it meets specs. Please email me at ws5926@yahoo.com.

Tomsonite: you mention the discus is not as clear cut as the shot...I have to disagree. Kanter has had two good years this decade, Alekna absolutely dominated 6-7 years of the decade.
Throwfarusa: I am the biggest Godina fan you have ever met, but as far as performance THIS decade, Nelson blows Godina out of the water. Godina's olympic silver and 2 of his world titles came in the 90's.published at Sep 18th 2009 10:59pm on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/

Yes, in this decade I think Nelson was better. Thats why I specified from the years 2000-2009. This might leave out great throwers like Godina who's careers happen to go from the middle of one decade to the middle of another. I'm not trying to shut anyone out of their due recognition...just asking who was best from '00-'09.
As for the hammer, Moreno's medal count in OG and WC (6) trumps Tikhon's (5), Murofushi's (3) or any other male thrower's. I think that leaves her on the top, above everyone else.published at Sep 19th 2009 12:23am on http://www.effortlessthrow.org/
