So I have this freshman girl who already can spin the shot out just shy of 30 feet and probably can throw the disc 100 at the least... one prob though. For the life of me I cannot get her to push the disc out of the front of her hand. She'll bowl the disc fine as long as shes facing the target and only moving her arm forward and backward with no rotation. The moment I have her stand with her side to the direction shes throwing or put any kind of rotation to her arm movement shell go back to throwing it off her pinky.

So heres what Im asking. How can get her to stop this mess. I figure well just keep doing release drills until hopefully one day it happens but if anyone here has some tricks I havnt heard of Id love to hear 'em.

    Thanks.

Try creating a situation where that movement becomes harder and harder to achieve.

A simple solution is to slow things down. Over exaggerate legs preceding the upper body. The throw is created by the legs, not the arms. (little ques like that might help) A focal point at 12 o clock also might work. It would be really hard to throw the discus the way shes doing it with a really big delay or drag.

    Experiment a little ; )
