Certainly there are some cases of spinners throwing poorly, just like the Mikhnevich in '04 and '05, or Buder in '96 and '00 etc. etc. But...

The spin has produced the best throw at 3 of the last 4 olympics and has accounted for 75% of the medals.

The spin has also produced the best throw at 6 of the last 7 world championships and has accounted for 72% of the medals.

Yet people still view the spin as "inconsisntent" and "not holding up under pressure" when a guy that wouldnt throw 20m gliding only throws 20.50m spinning in an olympic final.
