the bahamian stream worked great for me at first but since then it has not worked smoothly at all. Possibly due to a large number of ppl accessing it after finding out about it through this site. tonight is mens javelin quals and im going to try to stream it once again but incase it doesnt work, can someone who gets a solid connection record it if they show coverage? thanks

Chabot JC in Hayward is always open. Only good for about 180 right now. Plus, bring your crappiest hammer, landing area is gravel.

You could check with Diablo Valley JC, but the coach there never returns emails.

We have a fair sized group of throwers in the Bay Area, so send me an email and I'll put you on the list.

I've always liked the weight to distance kind of stuff. Her technique into the block is so solid and really shows what you can do with a block and sling/pull delivery that was so much discussed here a few days ago. All the basics for long throws are shown, well, in a long throw!
At least we got to see this.... there's a Nigerian heptathlete who- I think she was 3rd at Helsinki Worlds- who threw almost 56m in javelin at 5'3"/140lb. I wish I saw that throw!
And Our Miss Blewitt is a very good example/tech model as well.

Most of the times quoted from football are hand times started on first motion (no reaction time). The standard hand to auto time conversion is 0.24 seconds, and the fastest legal reaction time is 0.100 secs (Bolts was 0.165 in the WR race) One could take the first 40 yards of Bolts WR and subtract 0.41 seconds (0.24 + 0.165) to roughly convert it to a hand timed equivalent.

throwing areas in DANVILLE , uhmmm , well, there is a really good empty field out near the intersection of highway 680 and 580...of course the landing area would be right in the middle of the freeway but no one will notice I am sure...haha, just kidding...you are right near DIABLO COLLEGE and that would be the best place to start , and the other would be Hayward State if you want to go that far, Ben Plucknett used to go there so there must be something with a 250 foot landing area for him...other than those , there must be a high school nearby with something nice. check Berean in Walnut Creek and Monte Vista and San Ramon High school in Danville. good luck with these but the freeway IS an option!
