cant wait for this one. after watching amherst district and regionals and checking the results from other areas it looks like there'll be at least 6 guys expected to throw anywhere from 59-62 feet in the shot.

good luck to Hillary and Zach and the only reason I get to take an entire bus for 3 people. myself included.

Well I did not go to my daughters meet. She is my daughter, she told me I had a commitment to my athlete and she would not feel right if I left him by himself at State prelims. So I had to get the throw by throw over the phone and did not find out until it was over that she got the 5th spot (auto qualifier) by 2 centimeters. That was at about the same time my sophomore fouled his first throw at about 183'. Then he went on to foul his second throw. So I am all fired up about going to the NCAA Finals and my kid is about to foul out of the State meet, but being the great competitor that he is, even as a sophomore, he came back on his third throw at 174' to qualify 8th for tomorrow.

Well, not being born in a English-speaking country, my grasp of the above language's not perfect...it seemed,to the best of my(obviously modest)knowledge, that "to be on something" could mean that one's on the way of better things in whatever activity he's engaged on...but, as I've said, I'm a fluent writer only in my native country language.
So my words weren't about doping, but about the gold paved road that this tall youngsters seems to have ahead...moreover, he's quite lanky, albeit muscular, so he doesn't exactly fit the stereotype...
Anyway, I wouldn't dare to open the chemical's can of worms of drugs in today's athletes...
    I've appreciated, though, Leo's post.
