so who are the top 10 then...does everyone agree with my list or is someone not on the list that should be??? should Beyer or Barishnikov be on it and Andrei , Long off it???

I agree with w8coach, AL Fuerbach was a HUGE influence on everyone in the 70s and early 80s , but the longetivity of his record doesn't seem to hold up against the others, when you compare them, never the less he was a huge and great influence.

It looks like that amputee guy who runs with the carbon fiber "Cheetah Blades" is going to be allowed to try out for the Olympics after all. Meanwhile, in the world of throwing, people are disqualified if they are caught wearing a gold chain around their necks. The world is a weird place sometimes.

I saw the interview with Adam...I understand his idea but think gravity is the only thing that works against him with his technique , seems to be such a wonderful interpretation of the basics of shotput that I would not want to change it ...technically he has such a great AXIS in the middle , and it seemed that axis was not as solid and tight on the new technique.

BRUCE LEE said that any technique should be learned with a complete understanding of the basics of that technique....and once it is learned you should throw away the book and find your own style and interpatation of that technique...that is what I have always seen with Adams style and hope this won't hinder him. Your really that good already Adam !!! only thing against you is gravity.

Reminds me of Silvester after the '71 season. In the fall, experiment with moving the right foot/leg from the back of the circle, to placing the right foot in the middle of the circle. We tried that position for several months but changed back. I felt it threw off the timing that led into the '72 olympic season. But wiht Nelson's change, his left could get down quicker then his swinging the leg, again timing is the factor.
