Working with Stewart, we focus on technique and perfecting that, getting hammer strong (so basically who cares about how much we squat if it doesn't go into the throw) and don't focus on what the drug people do because how will that help me throw further in any way?!?

Agree or disagree, drug users are a disgrace to our sport and our country and is a black eye on the intregity and hard work of all U.S. throwers.

Every drug user that makes a team leaves one person who works their ass off every day, sacrificing and not takeing short cuts, at home. What kind of message are we sending to younger throwers by idolizing drug users?

You want to clean up the sport? Stop glamorizing drug use!

To be honest I dont really want to know or care about who was using in the 80s. That era has a bad enough reputation as is. We all know a lot happened back then and knowing exactly who will not do any of the current throwers any good.

Although I suppose some retired clean athletes might be very interested

For me it does not really matter if someone knows that one of my competitors is using drugs. Until they get caught I still have to find a way to beat them!

(This MUST include even the ones that I believe in my heart have done the same, even though not caught.

Do i give all older throwers a pass for plenty of reasons, and just start with current throwers ? It seems to be the consensus that the majority of the older guys wee doing stuff, but it was accepted and not really out of the ordinary ?


this is more of a rhetorical question, as i will get the same split responses that we get normally here,which is fine, but this is where my own thinking is as i get ready for the next season..

Im looking to put this personally behind me with one decision or another, and get engaged into the real work ahead, which is helping my kids THROW FAR... but i was curious to get some responses one last time, and see if any feel the same way..

To answer your statement about coaching talented athletes, yes, I do that also. I tend to go with HS coach as teacher first, however.
