In the NCAA you can pretty much count on the competition year after year. There is always a crap load of great athletes. Rarely and underdog athlete.(Someone who seemingly shouldn't be there) Seems a little boring to me. This summer I look forward to the lifting and the plyos because I don't know who I will throw against in national next season. But...may be I am just that kind of a thrower.

I remember competing against the throwers at Azusa Pacific in the early 80's and they were just as good as the top D1 schools were at the time. You had Christian Okoye throwing 212 in the discus and Mike Maynard threw for them one year. They had a bunch of other guys also.

Now as for amount of talk on "the Ring" about the NAIA. I would say most conversation on here are very general. Most contain info about throwing related knowledge. I don't think any one division is singled out, unless there is something extraoridary that occurs.

One thing to always keep in mind about divisions and NCAA/NAIA is that each one will have great results, but the density of great results will most likely go in this pecking order: D1, D2, D3, NAIA,. Of course, depending on the year, there are always exceptions. And where does JUCO fit in?

And for the record, I too was an NAIA thrower. Rio Grande 99'-03'.....and I loved the NAIA!
