What the heck is a Wipperman?

What ever it is, I want one!

My all time favorites are, [articledefinition=2]Schult[/articledefinition] Ultimate Spin 2001 model. I still throw this rim with replacement plates! Rim has worn beautifully and hasn't dented easily. Many personal best with this discus.. hopefully more to com! The other that was amazing was the Pacer Saturn, 1st model i think with green plates and sand blasted rim(now illegal). Also the [articledefinition=2]Schult[/articledefinition] Nordic with sand blasted rim was nice.

What!? No love for anything from the States?

Pacer Saturn was legit but its not made anymore... My favorite right out the box is UCS Orange flyer for major comps. Great tack out the box but gets less grippy over time

Was the Wippermann discus named after or designed by German 1972 Olympic discus thrower Dirk Wippermann?

Favorite that I have thrown has to be the UCS Orange Flyer. My favorite that I own would be the Denfi Classic.

Also I want to see this Wipperman discus.

finally the pictures of the wipperman discus

As my brother already said these discs are quite rare. Some old German throwers and clubs might have them in there garages.
Some of them are even too thin to be allowed by the new IAAF rules and therefore not valid for certain events anymore

I bought my son the Denfi hyper super spin in 1999 enroute to a state championship and state record. in 2007 that same discus was used by my thrower to a state championship and state record. it was also used by a neighbor to our school for a 4th place finish in a larger class school. My son, now coaching then took back his discus to throwers he coached to state championships in 2008 and 2009 and 2013. I convinced my school to then buy a DHSSS for a thrower I coached to allow him to win both 2008 and 2009 championships and 4th place in 2010. I had hoped for a 3=peat but football injuries to hand and knee prevented that. yes My son and I both think the HYper SuperSpin is the best discus available for an elite high school thrower

The cantabrian black was my weapon of choice, only the ones produced before 1996. They changed hands after that and have been less than impressive since.
