Today competition in Bellinzona, Switzerland underlined once again Julia Fischer’s consistency in the discus event. Three attempts beyond the 64m mark shows her great shape she is in right now. Anna Rüh became second with 61.97m. Lars Hamann won the men’s javelin event with strong 83.95m.
Today there was a competition in Bellinzona, Switzerland and the field of throwers for the women’s discus and men’s javelin event was of high class. Julia Fischer, currently the best German discus thrower won the competition with strong 64.57m. In addition, two more throws beyond the 64m mark were enough to take the victory. Her compatriot Anna Rüh placed 2nd with her best effort of 61.97m. Ashley Whitney became 3rd with 60.69m.
The men’s javelin event was also won by a German. Lars Harmann threw the 800gr implement to 83.95m to take the victory. He was followed by the Swedish thrower Kim Amb (82.67m) and Tanel Laanmae from Estland (81.67m).
