Fedrick Dacres (28 February, 1994) is a Jamaican discus thrower. He won a gold medal at the 2011 World Youth Championships in Athletics, becoming the first Jamaican discus thrower ever to do so. He went on to win a gold medal at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics, also becoming the first Jamaican discus thrower ever to do so. Dacres participated in the boys’ discus throw at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics.

How has your training been going recently?
Training has been picking up recently after being on a slight hold because of a bicep strain.
What is the focus of your training schedule?
The focus of my training now is mainly strength and technique work.
Is there anything new you are implementing into your training?
Well my coach has implemented a few more auxiliary exercises to prevent injury at this time mainly to strengthen my shoulders and biceps.
What technical issues are you working on?
The technical issue for me is bracing at the front but because i did knee surgery it cant be too hard.
Where are you currently training?
I’m currently training in Jamaica.
Will you be attending any training camps at another site? If so, where and when?
We will attend a training camp in japan before the championships, the 8th to the 18th.
Who is your current coach?
My current Coach is still my same coach from high school.
Are you training with your coach on site or long distance?
At this time face time is important so its on site.
Are you currently working a job? If so, what and how many hours a week?
Im not working a job at all im a university student so im free for now.
What competitions do you have planned?
We dont have any competitions planned for now but hopefully there will be.
When will you travel to Asia?
We will leave the 6th of august.
When will you travel to Beijing?
We will travel to Beijing the 18th.
Will any friends or family be travelling to Beijing?
