In Toronto, the Pan American Games are being held and the men’s javelin event has just finished with another big win for Keshorn Walcott with 83.27m. Riley Dolezal threw a new season best of 81.26m to secure the silver medal and Juliao De Oliveira 3rd with 80.94m.
The Olympic Champion Keshorn Walcott added another gold medal his collection. In his young career Keshorn already has won a lot of titles with the Olympic Champion being the most important one. Today he added the Pan American Games gold medal.
In the first round Juliao De Oliveira threw 80.29m to take an early lead in the competition. Keshorn Walcott threw 79.03m to be 2nd after the first round and Riley Dolezal 77.17m for the 3rd place.
In the 2nd round everything changed. The Olympic Champion unleashed a massive throw to 83.27m taking the lead. Also Juliao De Oliveira improved in the 2nd round to 80.94m. Keshorn fouled his 3rd attempt giving the other throwers the opportunity to take the lead. But none of the throwers came even close to his 2nd round throw. Only Riley Dolezal improved in the 4th round for the silver medal. His throw was 81.62m which meant to be a new season best. Juliao De Oliveira could not improve any further and became 3rd. The Argentine Braian Toledo placed 4th with 77.68m.
