The German Athletics Association has trust in the decision by the Olympic, world and European champion Robert Harting if he is going to compete at the upcoming world championships in Beijing, China (August 22 to 30). Germany is allowed to nominate 4 throwers to compete at the world championships due to Harting’s wildcard.
The German Athletics Federation’s head coach Idriss Gonschinska says that he has a high level of trust in Robert Harting and his coach Torsten Schmidt. Recently, Robert Harting has canceled his start at the German championships following the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Whether the Olympic champion will defend his world championship’s title in Beijing, China he has not decided yet. A forecast is “hardly possible”, said Gonschinska. “Basically, every week the decision can come up. The health of the athletes prevails”, said Gonschinska.
