Taylor Campbell improving the British record twice in the first event of the day was highlight of Day One of the national championships at Bedford. While rain damped some of the performances and at times gave testing conditions there were still strong performances throughout as athletes fought for titles as well as places on the British teams for the respective European Championships.
The Championship was off to a flying start courtesy of Taylor Campbell (Club: Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow, Coach Paul Dickenson) who rewrote the British record twice in the Under 20 hammer throw. After throwing out to 77.30 in the second round he then went over 76 metres again before extending out to 78.74 to improve on his own British Record mark and also wipe Peter Smith’s Championship record.
“I have Seen Taylor compete before and he is just an amazing athlete to watch. sadley i did not see him on the saturday at bedford as i was competing myself on the Sunday. But I am sure it would of been an amazing sight.”
