The field in the hammer throw men at the HALPLUS Werfertage is nearly complete. Pawel Fajdek, currently one of the best hammer throwers in the world, faces Dilshod Nazarov from Tajikistan. Nazarov scored the last two years throws of over 80 m. 2013 he was the first time in Halle, threw his still existing personal best of 80.71m and won the competition. He missed that time the still existing meeting record of 80.82m by inches. Maybe this year the now over six-year-old record will be broken.
The best German hammer thrower in recent years, the Leverkusen-based Markus Esser will have to deal with them and on the very good facility in Halle can hopefully throw towards World Championships qualification standard.
Certainly the Javier Cienfuegos from Spain, Akos Hudi (Hungary) or Sergey Marghiev from Moldova will make sure for a high level of competition in Halle. They are also able to intervene in the fight for victory.
