German hammer thrower Betty Heidler threw the 4kg implement beyond the 73m mark at the Tennessee Challenge in Knoxville, USA. Therefore, Betty does not need to worry about the qualification standard for the World Championships in Beijing, China (22th to 30th August) anymore.
71.50m are required by the German Athletics Federation (DLV) for participation in the 2015 World Championships. 73.25m has Betty Heidler has thrown in a training competition in Stellenbosch (South Africa) – but before April 1, and thus before the start of the official standard-period.
The German hammer throwers are at a training camp with the national coach Michael Deyhle and Betty used the Tennessee Challange in Knoxville to throw the qulification standard. With an official distance of 239′ 9″ Betty Heidler can plan for the World Championships. Carolin Paesler placed second with 69.20m
