Last weekend was the first major discus competition in Wiesbaden with some very good performances. Robert Harting who is still not competing due to an injury was well represented by his younger brother Christoph. He launched the discus during the first attempt to a new world leading mark of 67.53m. Christoph will of couse also compete at the HALPLUS Werfertage this weekend.
The Australian, Benn Harradine, who loves to cheer up the audience with his outfits placed second with 66.75m which places him 3rd in the current world list. He will be once again throwing in Halle and everyone can be excited about what he will wear this year. Benn not only ensures a good performance in the ring. He also tries to make fun out of the sport with his competition suits. Benn also used to be a big part of the evening program couple of times already. Singing “Down Under” supported by his guitar.
Throwholics is eager to see what he might wear this time.
Of course there are more throwers competing in the men’s discus event. Besides Christoph Harting and Benn Harradine there are other big names such as Martin Wierig, Märt Israel, Markus Münch, Jorge Fernandez, Daniel Jasinksi and Przemyslaw Czajkoski who all have a personal best beyond 65m.
