What do you need to work on, improve?
I need to work on my strength, I had a major pectoral injury in 2013 and never got my strength back, so this offseason is dedicated to getting my numbers in the weight room back up.
Where will you be living this winter?
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Who are you training with?
Coach Jerry Clayton (Head Mens Track Coach at University of Michigan)
Are you throwing in the off-season in practice?
I throw 3 times a week and right now mainly 20lb shot-puts to work on power. My light shot is 18lbs right now.
What weight lifting exercises will you do?
My main focus is on bench press because, but my hang clean and especially my squats are showing a lot of improvement.
Do you see your coach much? Who is your coach?
I see Coach Clayton almost every day so it’s nice having him to correct my technique on a daily basis.
Are you going to try anything new this off-season? If so, what?
I typically start very high out of the back of the ring, so I’m going to try and get lower and see if that can put me in a better position in the middle of the ring.
What will you do to relax? Vacation planned?
I will go home to see my family during spring break, and whenever I have an off week drive to Chicago or Niagara Falls with my girlfriend.
When do you plan to compete again?
My Off-Season has been going very good and my main focus has been strength. Everything I do is heavy which will affect my speed and throws now, but will pay off when season starts in the summer.
