What do you need to work on, improve?
We mainly worked to get my calf 100% fit again. Besides that there are always little things to be improved regarding my the technique. From October to mid-December, I was on a training course, as part of my army service, in Hannover. Apart from that I’m always training in Madgeburg, Germany.
Who are you training with?
I train with a few javelin throwers, including 2 junior athletes from the German national Team (Christoph Müller, Lena Lilie).
Are you throwing in the off-season in practice?
During the off-season we also do throwing exercises but mostly indoors and pure technical throws.
What weight lifting exercises will you do?
We do a lot of different weightlifting exercises but most of them are the usual ones such as bench press, incline bench press, snatch, squats
Who will you train with?
My coach Ralf Wollbrück who is also the German junior national coach.
Do you see your coach much?
I see my coach actually during every training session. He is an integral part of my training and should always be around if possible.
Are you going to try anything new this off-season?
Here and there we do try new things. One should always try to set new stimuli. I have, for example, done a lot of special training, such as EMS (Electronical Stimuli training), for building my calves.
What will you do to relax?
To relax, I’m with my wife during the weekend. We do a lot of different things, especially walking around and playing with our dog. I also do a lot of work on anything that has an engine.
When do you plan to compete again?
My next competition, if all goes well, will be mid/late May but I currently do not know where I will start competing.
