First off right now I’m battling with quadricep tendinosis, it started at the beginning of last indoor season. It’s finally starting to heal so I’m slowly working back into throwing and lifting lower body.
My first thing I’m going to work on once my knee heals 100% will be getting the strength back into it. My numbers in the weight room were more than enough to have elite throws in the 20m+ range.
I am still pretty new to the spin technique but I have picked up on it fairly quickly. The main thing I would like to fix in my rotational technique will be the speed and separation.
This winter I am living in my apartment in Buffalo, New York. I am still a student here the University at Buffalo with one year left of eligibility. So I am currently lifting and practicing with my younger teammates.
I see my coach everyday for practice, his name is James Garnham.
We’re are going to stick with what got me to the point I’m at now, nothing new. But we are going to try and throw a lot more variations of the shot (14.5lb-18lb) using the heavier shot to work on putting force into the shot and the lighter shot for working on speed and separation.
We open up our first indoor meet around mid January.
