The two-time World Champion David Storl (2011 and 2013) and the silver medal winner Christina Schwanitz are training in a hall which was built 18 years ago. Federal and state governments set funding in the amount of 260,000€. There will be a new floor, a new ring and a special wall covering which will endure the 7.26kg balls by Storl.
Sven Lang is very happy about the new facility and is already looking forward to use it. There is a minor delay of 2-3 weeks but they are all waiting patiently. Schwanitz and Storl are pleased with the new conditions. “Now the roof must also be sealed and then everything is perfect. It is currently still raining through the roof.
Storl has come better than ever in the season, with four competitions over the 21m mark.
David has the best technique, he is the best athletes who uses speed rather than pure strength. If he can keep the best tosses within the circle and does not foul them, he will soon have a new personal best over the 22m mark.
