The rising discus star Shanice Craft is very consistent throughout the entire season. She’s beaten the German elite throwers Nadine Müller and Julia Fischer twice already. In absence of the other youngstar Anna Rüh, Shanice Craft was the one to look at for the U23 National Championships. Shancie won the competition with and impressive serie and a best toss of 63,40m.
The first place was already set before the competition even started. The other youngstar Anna Rüh, who is the only U23 who could challenge Shanice Craft did not start at the U23 national championships. Hence, Shanice Craft had no competition and needed to focus solely on herself. Every throw would have been enough to win the competition. Craft openened with 60,45m, fouled the second attempt and improved to her best throw of 63,40m in the third round. She underlines her impressive consistens with three further throws above 62m. Her fourth attempt 62,76, followed by 62,92m and another impressive throw of 63,21m.
I’m dissatisfied. The legs were just tired today. I planned to throw closely to my personal best. Even though I would have liked to throw further today I’m still quite positive about the current season. I did not expect to throw that far this year. I would like to continue with these kind of throws.
Kristin Pudenz placed second with 58,35m and Marieke Steinacker third 56,29m
