Some people who are following not only the elite throwers probably know the Prüfer brothers as well. At least Henning Prüfer should be well known since he is the double vice world champion from last years U18 World Championships. Both with the shot put and the discus he placed second in Donezk, Ukraine. At todays competition not only Henning underlined his amazing shape but also his younger brother Clemens.
Henning and Clemens were both unstoppable at the meeting in Osterorde, Germany. Henning increased his personal best in the discus event to 63,15m which puts him on the fourth place in the 2014 top list with the 1,75kg discus. During the shot put event he tossed the 6kg ball to 19,89m which also secured him the fourth place in the yearly top list.
It must be in the genes of the Prüfer brothers. Also his younger brother Clemens seems to get around the discus pretty well. He threw already massive PB’s during the season and qualified for the U18 Olympic Games in Nanjing, China later this year. But what he did in Osterode was incredible. Clemens smashed his previous PB by over 1m to 65,02m which is currently the second place in the world for the U18 age group. He missed his older brothers national record by only 85m. Throwholics is certain that we will see some great throws in the future by both of them. Congratulations!
