Next to the great hammer results in Frankisch-Crumbach, Germany, which Betty Heidler won with an impressive European Leading throw of 76,91m was another great hammer comp in Marrakech, Marocco. At the IAAF Hammer World Challenge all the big names which haven’t competed in Frankisch-Crumbach battled for the win. The German hammer star Kathrin Klaas was the one, who placed 1st on the podium with a great throw of 73,30m (240′ 5″).
Kathrin Klaas, who competed already in couple of events this year, threw her winning throw of 73,30m (240′ 5″) in the last attempt. She fouled three out of six attempts but even her second best throw of 73,09m (239′ 9″) would have placed her on the podium. The Canadian Sultana Frizell placed 2nd with 73,21m (240′ 2″) and Bianca Perie 3rd with 70,57m (231′ 6″).
