The German discus thrower Daniel Jasinski, currently third best thrower in Germany and currently with the best chances of getting the third ticket to the 2014 European Championships wins the competition in Leiden, the Netherlands with ease. Only the other German discus thrower David Wrobel would have been one who could toss the 2kg implement over the 60m line.
Daniel Jasinki was not getting a ticket to throw at the Diamond League meeting in New York and therefore, was looking out for another good competition. He found one in Leiden, the Netherlands. Unfortunately, there was no real competition for him. He was only fighting against himself. The other German discus thrower who did throw over 60m already fouled all of his three attempts. Hence, Daniel was only fighting against himself.
The first round throw was measured 63,05m. During all of the following attempts he could not improve any further until his last attempt which was measured 64,14m.
Will he be the one who is going on the train with Robert Harting and Martin Wierig to the 2014 European Championships in Zurich, Switzerland? Roberts younger brother, Christoph, and Markus Münch are both still looking out to also grab the third spot in the German team. Good luck all of you!
