Today one of the first clash of titans took place. Double World Champion David Storl vs. double Olympic Champion Tomasz Majewski and Indoor World Champion Ryan Whiting. All three of them underlined their good shapes with the recent results. Today’s 21,33m (69’11”) by David Storl, who made first place on the podium, was not enough to get back the WL, currently held by Indoor World Champion Ryan Whiting. Whiting became second with 21,01m (68′ 11″) and Cory Martin secured the third place with his last toss of 20,60m (67′ 7″). The double Olympic Champion placed fourth with 20,50m (67′ 3″) from his third round toss.
Double World Champion David Storl has been leading the shot put ranking since he started the season. At first David opened the season with 20,37m (66′ 9″), improved in Sasnitz with 21,04m (69′) and then tossed the 7.26kg ball to 21,10m (69′ 2″) last thursday in Düsseldorf. Yesterday we announced that “Whiting Ups Storl with 21,37m (70′ 1½”) WL” and as from today he still keeps the first place in the world.
Tomorrow is the next competiton for David Storl and he will try to get back the world lead in the men’s shot put.
