Finally Christina did hit the 20m mark indoors as well. Vice World Champion Christina Schwanitz tossed the 4kg ball to 20,05m (65 feet 9″) at a meeting in Rochlitz, Germany.
Christina Schwanitz uses the young season to underline her good shape. Today Schwanitz tossed the ball indoors for the first time over the 20m (65′ 7″) mark and extended her current world lead. Josephine Terlecki came very close to the qualification standard of 17,80m (58′ 4″) for the upcoming Indoor World Championships in Sopot, Poland. She managed to throw 17,69m (58′) and missed out only by a few cm. Shanice Craft placed third with a toss to 17,35m (56′ 11″). “It was a great event”, said Shanice.
Dennis Lewke placed second with 18,70m (61′ 4″) and Bodo Göder surprisingly third with 18,58m (60 feet 11″). Tobias Dahm, who achieved a new pb of 19,43m (63′ 8″) at the indoor meeting in Karlsruhe yesterday, only tossed the ball to 18,50m (60′ 8″).
U18 Vice World Champion Henning Prüfer defeated the U18 World Champion Patrick Müller. Henning’s toss was measured 20,60m (67 feet 7″) and Müller was short only by 5cm and achieved 20,55m (67 feet 5″). Both distances were new indoor personal bests with the 6kg shot.
