Every year the New Year’s resolution of the athletes are very interesting. Some wishes for a healthy and successfull year and other want to change something. Leichtathletik.de asked three of the German throwers what they think about the future.
Discus Thrower Robert Harting:
“I have no new years resolutions. […] In order for me to have a good 2014 Lamine Diack has to retire and the Track and Field has to realise that it should change the media. Many people would have to leave on their own volition and the younger generation with dynamic thinkers have take their spots. But those ones should not do any harm as well. The presentation of Track and Field in TV has to be changed, it has to be fundamentally rethought and europeanized. This is only possible if young people are listened to. That and much more!”
Javelin Thrower Lina Stahl:
“My new year resolution is to stay healthy during the next season. Furthermore, I would like to have just as much fun in the training and the competition as before and the rest comes naturally. In 2014 I would like to celebrate my hopefully passed examination in Zürich with a medal around my neck, this would be perfect.”
Discus Thrower Anna Rüh:
“Above all I wish to stay healthy and a successful, injury-free season. What means 2014 good for me? I will get a medal at the European Championships in Zürich and throw about 66m.”
