Last Saturday Brett Morse opened his 2013 season with a massive throw of 64.97m (213′ 1″). He competed at the BAL comeptiton in Lee Valles, London to lead the field.
It not only surpasses the Glasgow Commonwealth Games “A” qualification standard of 60m, it was also beyond the World Championships “B” standard of 64.00m (209′ 11″).
The 64.97m (213′ 1″) was Morse’s 3rd longest throw of all time. His focus is now on hitting the WC “A” standard of 66m (216′ 6″) for this summer’s Moscow World Championships.
Morse, a London Olympian, showed a high level of fitness by dropping two other throws beyond 64.80m.
His throw puts Morse top of the British and European 2013 list in and 6th on the current world list.
His comment on Facebook was:
“First comp since the Olympics (8 months) went well, best distance for 2 years and my best ever series,3 throws over 64.50m (211′ 7″), with a best of 64.97m (213′ 1″) if training is anything to go by there is a lot more to come”
