This morning, Czech javelin thrower Barbora Spotakova, a 31-year-old double Olympic winner, gave birth to a boy whom she and her partner, firefighter Lukas Novotny, named Janek in Prague. The baby weighed 3.28kg and measured 51cm after birth. Spotakova said she is very happy and feels euphoria and responsibility. Janek is her first baby. Spotakova said last autumn that she interrupted her sports career over pregnancy. She added then that she would like to return to athletics in the 2014 season.
In October she wants to start training again and to fight for medals at the 2014 European Championships in Zurich, Switzerland.
Throwholics wishes Barbora all the best with her baby, may she come back stronger than ever!
